“Ain’t No Rain In Central Kansas” is a parody of “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma'” by Luke Combs from the hit movie Twisters! Before the storm at the end of this video, we had received 1.5 inches of rain since June 8 and were 8 inches behind our yearly average rainfall. Ponds are dry, crops are dying, and it is the third year in a row of unprecedented drought! We received almost an inch from this last storm but we will need a lot more to fix our situation. Pray for rain!

“Ain’t No Rain” Parody Lyrics by Greg Peterson:
I keep staring at the sky just waiting for
A thunderhead to come up on me
Hoping that a storm brings a big ol rain
To this dried up, sun soaked country
Corn is struggling and I’ve bills to pay
Beans wither some more every day
So I keep staring at the sky just waiting for
A thunderhead to come up on me
Ain’t no rain in Central Kansas
Just the blazing sun and hot dry wind
You will come to understand this
As you watch the crops meet their end
Farming footage, empty ponds, cracks in soil, kick dust, watering cows, driving dust, thermometer, Nathan setting up pump
We keep pumping out the same ol River
Trying to keep our soil from drying
The pivot goes round and round and round
And the corn it just keeps on tryingI’ve only got the water for one field
The rest relies on rain for it’s yield
So I keep staring at the sky just waiting for
A thunderhead to come up on me
Ain’t no rain in Central Kansas
Just the blazing sun and hot dry wind
You will come to understand this
As you watch the crops meet their end
There’s a storm in Central Kansas
Hear the whistle of the rain wrapped wind
As it hits it brings some damage
But that’s just a means to an end
There’s a storm in Central Kansas
Hear the thunder of the rain wrapped wind
As it pounds the soil the land is
Drinking in to be revived again
