This Big Tractor Power video features a 310 horse power Spirit of 76′ Steiger Panther II ST-310 tractor painted red, white and blue for the United State’s Bicentennial on July 4, 1976. Steiger Tractor Inc. contacted Walt’s Body Shop in Fargo, North Dakota to paint 37 Spirit of 76′ Steiger’s. The special American Flag graphics were offered on Steiger Cougar II, Panther II, Tiger II, Cougar III and Panther III tractors starting in July 1975 and running through early 1976. Norris Hayman ordered the tractor in July 1975 for his Ridgely, Maryland grain and canning vegetable farm. Norris Hayman took delivery of the special All American tractor in October 1975 at Hoober, Inc in Pennsylvania. Norris Hayman put 10,000 plus hours on this Steiger Panther II over 30 years. Today this Spirit of ’76 Steiger Panther II remains the best example still existing of the 37 Bicentennial Steiger’s built and continues to work on a Western Kentucky corn and soybean farm.
